Norfolk Southern train derails 8 cars

Eight rail cars derailed from a Norfolk Southern train near Millen on Thursday, October 17th, around 7 p.m., said a Norfolk Southern spokesperson. The incident occurred on Old Eighty Road, near the crossing. Four of the eight cars that derailed were transporting mash. The other cars contained scrap paper, Toyotas and polyethylene. Progress being made on City of Millen’s RDF project

The City of Millen’s Rural Development Fund (RDF) grant project is progressing according to schedule. County Commissioners propose tax increase to assist hospital

Millen will soon have a new company in the Robert G. “Bobby” Dwelle Industrial Park on Magnolia Street.
